Vacuum Skin Packaging (VSP) is an advanced thermoformed packaging process that maximizes shelf life and enhances product appearance while minimizing the need for preservatives. The process works by combining a high-barrier skin film with a prefabricated tray. Under vacuum conditions, the film is heated to a softening point, then vacuumed directly over the product, adhering tightly to both the product surface and the tray flange. After cooling and forming, the result is a hermetically sealed, aesthetically pleasing package that showcases the product with exceptional clarity.
