Characteristics and Applications of CPP Transparent Packaging Bags

Mar. 02, 2026

CPP film, or Cast Polypropylene film, is a non-oriented polypropylene film produced through a cast extrusion process, known for its excellent clarity and surface smoothness. Its key features include lower cost compared to materials like LLDPE and LDPE, higher stiffness than PE films, superior moisture and odor barrier properties, and suitability for use as a substrate in laminates and metallization. It offers excellent visibility for packaged products.

Based on application, CPP films are mainly classified into four types:

  1. General-purpose CPP: Used for garment, knitwear, and flower packaging bags, as well as document and photo album films and food packaging.

  2. Metallizable CPP: Vacuum metallized and laminated with BOPP for high-end barrier packaging of tea, biscuits, and crispy snacks.

  3. Retort-grade CPP: With excellent heat resistance, it is suitable for hot-fill, retort pouches, and aseptic packaging. It resists acid, alkali, and grease, making it ideal for bread and pharmaceutical packaging.

  4. Functional CPP (Specialty Film): Used in candy twist wrap, pharmaceutical infusion bags, photo albums (as a PVC alternative), synthetic paper, stand-up pouches, and more.

CPP films are also expanding into new applications such as DVD cases, pastry packaging, anti-fog films for fruits and vegetables, flower wrapping, and synthetic paper for labels. Giant Packaging offers customized CPP transparent packaging bags to meet diverse industry needs.
